The Cavendish Cliffs on Prince Edward Island are striking, iron-rich red sandstone formations along the rugged north shore of Prince Edward Island National Park.
This is a plein air painting I created on site. I find plein air painting both elusive and challenging – the light and atmosphere are constantly changing, and capturing the feeling of a landscape in the moment is never easy. But I was able to capture something of the beauty and character of this extraordinary place.
With its vibrant red cliffs and the vast Atlantic beyond, I hope this painting brings a fresh breeze of Atlantic serenity into your home.
